The start is on the east side of the mountain, at Sembalun Lawang. The first day you walk on steppes and you reach the crater rim Plawangan where you spend the night in tents. The second challenge follows at night: conquering the top of the Rinjani at an altitude of 3,762 meters. After breakfast on day 2 you descend again to the mountain village of Sembalun Lawang, where the trekking ends. U overnacht in tentjes. Er gaat een lokale gids mee. Er zijn geen sanitaire voorzieningen onderweg. Optioneel kunt u een comfortpakket reserveren inclusief sanitaire tent (ca € 80 p.p.)
