Day 1 Arrival Sumbawa airport, drive to Labuan Jambu

At the airport exit, your driver will be waiting to take you to the former Sultan’s palace. The building is made entirely of teak wood and is definitely worth a visit. From Sumbawa Besar, your driver will continue the journey to Labuan Jambu, which takes about more than two hours. Overnight stay in Labuan Jambu.

Day 2 Whalesharks and back to Sumbawa besar

Wake up in the middle of the night! At 4:00 a.m., you will board a simple yet comfortable wooden boat, and in the darkness, the skipper will take you to the bagans (fishing platforms) in Teluk Saleh Bay. Along the way, a light breakfast, coffee, and tea will be served. The whale sharks love to gather around the fishermen’s platforms. Your skipper will check which bagan they are visiting that morning, and just after sunrise, you’ll have the unforgettable opportunity to snorkel with whale sharks — some reaching up to 15 meters in length. Around 8:00 a.m., the boat returns to Labuan Jambu, where you can freshen up at your hotel. Afterwards, your driver will take you to Sumbawa Besar. 1 overnight stay in Sumbawa Besar.

Day 3 Back to Bali

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your 11±2/ Wings Air flight to Bali.

Bij mijn bezoek aan Labuan Jambu in mei 2024 was Aqila villas net geopend. 5 keurige huisjes, direct aan het water van Teluk Saleh. Het kleine resort heeft een aardig restaurantje en is een uitvalsbasis voor de walvishaaien excursie in de baai. Het Samawa Seaside resort ligt, zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, direct aan het strand. Vanaf het strand kijkt u uit op het eiland Pulau Moyo. Het resort kent seaside cottages en standaardkamers (die wij niet aanbieden). Er is een restaurant, s[a en zwembad.
