Tour module 3 days Wae Rebo trekking

This individual trip takes you to the traditional village of Wae Rebo. From Denge you make a great, approximately 4 hour trek to Wae Rebo. You walk through the rainforest, along streams and finish in the mountains. You spend the night in one of the traditional houses with a local family.

Important

For the trekking you need to be in good physical condition. Not suitable for small children.
Take good walking shoes with you.

Day 1 from Labuan Bajo to Denge

We are leaving for the village of Denge, the starting point for the trek to Wae Rebo, a ride of more than 5 hours. Along the way several stops, one at the Cunca Rami or Cunca Wulang waterfall.

We're leaving for Denge, starting point of the Wae Rebo trekking, a ride of more than 3 hours . On our way several stops, one at the spiderweb rice fields of Cancar.

Day 2 Trekking to Wae Rebo

After an early breakfast we start the approximately 4 hour trek to Wae Rebo, situated at an altitude of 1,100 meter. The start of the trek goes through the jungle and after more than an hour we make a stop at a small stream with some pools, where you can freshen up. Then we go on towards the next resting place 'Pocoroko' with a beautiful view over the sea. The last part is really in the mountains and you can already see Wae Rebo far away. You will get a warm and festive welcome and have lunch with a local family. The whole afternoon you are part of the daily life of the local population. You also have dinner with a local family, where you spend the night as well. (very simple: you sleep on a bamboo mat, there is no fan or AC).

Day 3 From Wae Rebo back to the civilized world

After breakfast you say goodbye to your host family and walk the same way back as yesterday, downhill this time. Lunch will be served at the same lodge and your driver will then take you to your hotel in Labuan Bajo or Ruteng.

Wae Rebo lodge

Simple homestay in the rice fields of the village of Denge. The 9 rooms do not offer much more than a bed, western toilet, mandibak (water container with a small bucket for 'showering') and a few chairs on the porch. meer info more info Informations supplémentaires

Wae Rebo local house

You stay here with a local family in a 'Mbaru Tembong', a traditional house. Everything is extremely basic: your sleeping place is a bamboo mat on the floor, there is a squat toilet and a mandibak (water container with a small bucket for 'showering'). Wae Rebo

Wae Rebo is a traditional village on Flores in the Manggarai district. The small isolated village is known for its traditional Mbaru Niang houses.
Wae Rebo is a small, truly remote village. It is located about 1,100 meters above sea level. So it is fresh!

To visit Wae Rebo you must plan an overnight stay in one of the local houses. The trek to Wae Rebo is preferably done in the morning and lasts about four hours. The night before the trekking up you stay in a simple guesthouse.
